Our supporters have always named cancer research as one of the most important things The Cancer Council does. Research will remain a top priority for the organisation.Over the next five years, The Cancer Council plans to spend $35 million funding the best and brightest researchers in the state. The Governments Cancer Institute has also indicated that it will commit Government funding toward research. Together, we can ensure that NSW takes its place as a national leader in this vital, life-saving area. The Cancer Council will also boost its commitment to population research. We will undertake major studies of thousands of people in NSW over several years to examine the way lifestyle, genes and the environment impact on our chances of getting cancer and the type of cancer we get.
