TAFE NSW - North Coast Institute
The North Coast Institute is a Registered Training Organisation and a leading education and training institution on the beautiful north coast of New South Wales. We enrol approximately 40,000 students each year. In both 2004 and 2005 the North Coast Institute was judged the best large training provider in the state of New South Wales. Ballina Campus, our local campus, is the platform for the delivery of a range of higher education and entry level vocational education courses in the Ballina, Byron Bay and Evans Head area.
Ballina Campus offers programs in a wide variety of areas:
Business and Administration Services with courses in Business, Business Administration, Micro Business and short courses in MYOB and Medical Terminology;
General and Vocational Education with courses in Literacy & Numeracy, ESOL, Skills for Work and Training, Preparation for Work and Study, Teaching English Overseas ;
Information Technology and Introductory computer courses ;
Maritime courses with levels of Deckhand, Coxswain, Master Class V, Master Class IV, Marine Engine Driving ;
Manufacturing and Engineering - AutoCAD;
Nursing courses in Enrolled Nursing, Aged Care, Health Service Assistant Acute Care, and short courses in Diabetes, Palliative Care, Dementia and Wound Care ;
Retail courses in Retail Management, Warehousing and Storage, Logistics Management and
Welfare courses in Community Services Work and Alcohol and Other Drug Work.
We offer various forms of delivery including: face-to-face lectures, flexible studies, self-paced learning, electronic delivery and on-the-job training. Special programs are available for Indigenous students, women and school students and many of our courses provide articulation into university study. We can assist businesses by customising study programs to the needs of their staff. We also have a wide range of traineeship courses available and have excellent student services that can assist and support you while you study.
Ballina Campus has been servicing the community for the past 20 years. We are positioned centrally in Ballina, close to the shopping centres and main business centre. North Coast TAFE is committed to our region, and is nearing completion of new purpose built facilities. A Counsellor and Aboriginal Student Support Officer are available onsite for student support. North Coast Institute supports ecological sustainability in all areas of our business.
