Under NSW legislation, all councils are required to undertake an integrated planning and reporting process to ensure that long-term community goals are matched with clear plans, services and budgets. These documents shape not only how Council prioritises its spending, but also how it sets policies, applies for grant funding, and delivers infrastructure, economic development, and community services over the next 10 years.

This is the main opportunity for the business community to provide formal input into Council’s agenda before it is locked in for the years ahead.

I’m sharing with you the Chamber’s draft response to Ballina Shire Council’s current round of strategic planning documents now on public exhibition. This includes the:

  • Community Strategic Plan 2025–2035
  • Delivery Program and Operational Plan 2024–2028
  • Long Term Financial Plan 2024–2034

As a Chamber we clearly have a role to get involved and be a voice for business on these matters.
